Part 1: HOW TO WIN GALAXIAE GAMMA 2.6/2.9
Each scenario is different and requires thus a different strategy. Because most people like the real large XXL scenario Galaxiae Gamma 2.6 and 2.9 we will give you a list of hints how to win this scenario when playing against the computer. Keep in mind: Human players often have diffent strategies and tactics, so there will NEVER be a "perfect" strategy in GALAXIAE. We played the game more than 10 years. The longer and the more often you play the game especially with human opponents like your friends you will see that there is NO perfect strategy, and no perfect tactics. This is why the game can be real fun in the long term play.
Build at first a lot of E5W2 WARSHIPs, maybe try autobuild. Most star systems in the scenario gamma 2.6 and 2.9 have a value of 1 and just 1 shield, so with a W2 weapon rating you will destroy at first -1 shield and then conquer with the additional -1 the system.
If you have a REG CODE for the FULL version you might also build 1 or 2 TECHSHIPs to raise the production every 30 seconds of all of your planets by about 2%.
You are not alone in the galaxy. Depending on the number of players the first 4 players are distributed to the 4 quadrants of the galaxy, however 5 to 10 players are totally randomized.
Build scanners on star systems, and build SPYSHIPS (or INKSPOTS). If you encounter the first hostile units you need to know their characteristics: Type of ships, engine rating E and systems rating W (weapon), R (range) etc.
Defend the frontline and your systems
Each hostile unit that can pass your front line defense is a thread to your empire, because the enemy can conquer one of your systems, so he might be able to create a "bridge head" for an invasion. So, do always scan the front lines for incoming hostile units, order units defend these fronts; and keep always in mind to have a front and a rear defense: Your opponents will build 95% visible units, however they might also build some hidden "cloaked" units (double price), so they can sneak into your galaxy sectors without being seen by your scan- or spyships.
Project your Capital System at all costs
If you loose your capital your opponent also conquers all of your star systems, all of your units in your fleets plus all resources. You are gone, and he will be a much bigger threat to the remaining players. So, especially if you play in teams, be sure that team members try to support each others at all costs.
Blitzing: Find hostile capitals and plan to attack them
Although you sometimes play with hundreds of units per player and fight in sectors with 50, 100 or even 500 star systems, matches can sometimes end very quickly: Find the hostile capital, run an attack ... and succeed. The capital is the heart of each empire; blitz into the capital sector, overrun your opponent's defense lines and win the game.
Warships are the only units that can conquer starsystems!
Warships in expansion: E5 to E12, W2 to W8
Warships to protect: E5 to E16, W4 to W16+
Startillery to attack/defend: E10 to E15, R5 to R10+
Techships: Default Techship to raise production
Emines: Good for defense, destroys every (!) other unit in the game.
Spyships: E8 to E12, S/R 8 to 12+++ (the larger the better)
Drones: Good and cheap one-time-use-units
